RESOURCE & FAQ

True stories told by and about a neurotic artist; subjecting you to just a little bit of weekly crazy.

Reminder:

Do not remove my signatures or captions from my posts or comics. Do not edit, reuse, reattribute, or redistribute my work in any fashion. Do not post my comic(s) to sites like WeHeartIt, TheMetaImage, Imgur, Reddit, 9Gag, or other similar sites. I mean it. All posts, comics, and content are © Cheri ‘cheeseborger’ Borgstrom.

Fonts:

For the promo and header images I use: CheeseborgerConspiracy, Ransom, and Ransom Note. In the first ten comics, I used Belta, then I switched to my own font, cheeseborger. Post titles and navigation bar links are in a font offered by blogspot called Oswald.

Schedule:

From May to the end of October, I will post every Friday.  During school-year months from November to the end of April, I will probably not post anything at all. In this way, it is best to think of my comic like you would a TV show- with seasons/series. This schedule is to accommodate a different work schedule and time for other personal projects.

Process:

- For the 2014 season, I work pretty much entirely in photoshop, use my own font, and use several brushes from Kyle Webster's MegaPack. By this point, when I start making the comic, I either have a story I want to tell in mind, have a specific silly frame I want to draw, or just sit down in a cold sweat terror of my Friday deadline and start drawing until something comes out.
- On the occasion that any image is "animated," I started the same way, then opened the photoshop file in Image Ready, and saved the optimized file as a gif.
- Toward the end of the 2013 season, I launched a youtube channel for process and time-lapse videos of myself working on the comic. I'll try to do at least one complete process video for at least one frame each season from now on just in case anyone is ever interested.

These stories are all entirely true, though I may be exaggerating slightly.
I may occasionally omit or alter the names of the other people involved.

Contact:

If you have anything you'd like to know about my work, questions about this blog, or some part of my life you'd like me to publish a story/blog post about, please email me at cheeborg[at]gmail[dot]com. You can also ask me stuff on the comic's official tumblr page, ask.fm or spring.me.

FAQ:

Q: Why aren't these in color?  Will you ever make these in color?
A: They're not in color for a few reasons. Firstly, I like the look of them like this. Second, it's faster and easier. I personally feel that being in black and white doesn't take anything away from these things, and I'm sorry if you feel differently, but I'm pretty steadfast in this belief.

Q: Will you print these?
A:  I don't know. Maybe? My planned end game didn't really include a printed version, so we'll have to see.

Q: Why you no respond?
A: I try to respond to messages and comments that elicit responses, but you have to give me time to do so.  If you've given it lots of time, it's possible I didn't receive it, I already covered it in this FAQ section, it didn't seem like something requiring a response, or it seemed a smidgen on the troll side. Please don't take it personally. I appreciate your interest, and enjoy reading genuine, thoughtful, and/or socially acceptable messages.

Q:  How can I find...?
A: I have added the blog search widget on the right hand side that I've titled "looking for something?"  That should be able to search the tags, the titles, and any of the text not included in a picture. The search widget is temporarily out of order. Sorry, folks.

Q: Typos!
A: Yeah, those happen.  I'm borderline illiterate there's, no spell check in photoshop, and every time I try to paste text in from elsewhere, photoshop crashes on me. Typos can be pretty hard to catch if you know what the thing is supposed to say.  So generally, I prefer you not point those buggers out unless you can tell me exactly where they are, because I can spend an hour staring at two sentences wondering what you're talking about.

Q: Do you consider this a family-friendly comic?
A: Nope. I'm a terrible role model..

Comments and Messages:

I will delete comments that are hateful, inflammatory, or overtly offensive toward any group or person.  That's the perk of being the page owner/operator.  I will probably also delete any overtly political, religious, or anti-religious comments.  I reserve the right to delete any comments and ignore any messages that make me uncomfortable.

Other Places to Find Me:

I have some links at the top of the page that take you to my various web presences, but here's another run-down of places you can find me:
  • Art Blog - My art-only tumblr page where I exclusively post my art, and none of my opinions.
  • Comic Tumblr - Are you on tumblr? Is going to a whole separate website to read a webcomic too much of a bother for you?  Well, boy have I got some news for you!
  • Facebook - The official facebook page where I post my art links to the newest comic updates, and details about any upcoming events (usually locally based- Philly and NJ, etc) I'll be involved in.
  • YouTube - Where I occasionally post process and time-lapse videos of myself doing everything the hard (read: wrong) way.
  • deviantArt - A free host and pseudo profile site where I post a lot of my artwork.
  • Shop - My etsy shop, where I sell some of my artsy-fartsy things- mostly drawings.
  • Twitter - Where I tweet pretty unfiltered about my opinions.  This is a place you might not want to go unless you're sure you're ready to be exposed to social, political, and theological ideologies not in accordance with your own. I do tweet about goofier things as well (including farts), but I owe you fair warning.

Cartoons I Love:
Archer, Adventure Time, Bob's Burgers, Daria, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Futurama, Gravity Falls, Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, The Venture Brothers.

Other Suggestions:
Bonus Embarrassing Content:
This is my third webcomic. The first I illustrated with a friend from college. Most of those comics have vanished into the great beyond. The second I illustrated and co-wrote with the man who would become my husband. Many of those comics still exist. They are a veritable trove of embarrassingly terrible art, and often terrible writing. A handful, the better ones usually, were written by a friend of mine, Randall Nichols. The 81 cringe-worthy comics that remain can be downloaded here. If you feel like giving them a look, feel free, but do NOT post them anywhere else. Be cool.
